Two important sites to be pointed out are the bridges over the Guadalhorce river.
The railway bridge, the first one over the river, was inaugurated in 1863. Its construction was directed by Jorge Loring Oyarzábal who worked for the Málaga-Córdoba Railway Company until its merger with the Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Andaluces (the Andalusian Railway Company) and its later takeover by RENFE.
The original bridge was replaced by the present one at the beginning of the 20th century.

The road bridge (with only one span) also dates back to the beginning of last century. It is a magnificent feat of engineering which still causes admiration for its proportions, being the largest bridge (with the same constructive characteristics) in Spain at the time.
It was built by the engineer Ginés de Fe y Pérez within the Guadalhorce Plan, which brought about other great hydraulic infrastructures in Málaga province. These works, still useful today, were directed by Rafael Benjumea y Burin, the first Count of Guadalhorce.
